Survival is a basic instinct that we are born with. The easiest way to develop an understanding about what survival is, is to observe animals in the wild or in your home if you have multiple pets. It's amazing how the bigger animals will always overpower the smaller animals during feeding time.
Another example can be found in families with multiple children. They each try to constantly out do each other to receive the blessing of their parents.
The reality of it is that we are in constant fear that we need to always be better than someone else or else we are not doing our best.
People have also become money hungry.
Our current society encourages us to love money. Companies keep changing their products by upgrading them and exciting technological advances keep us running back to the stores to buy the newest upgrade.
When you become born again (John 3:3), it's easy to spot how fast the world is changing for the worst.
- People are extremely selfish these days.
- People are very rude.
- People are always in a hurry.
- People are struggling to survive.
- People have developed cynical attitudes.
- People are extremely greedy and never feel they have enough.
- People lie, steal, and cheat to get ahead.
But who are they trying to please? What's the point of always rushing?
One answer is that spiritual forces beyond our physical understanding are constantly influencing us to do negative things that do not line up with the word of God.

Foundation Scriptures to understand why you need to tap into your spirit-
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:9-11
9However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"— 10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
